Holobionte is an independent publisher of contemporary thought, posthumanities, and avant-garde(s). It was founded in the summer of 2017 with the aim of bringing readers the cutting-edge currents of thought proliferating in the international arena.

Today, science, nature, and the very definition of humankind are at the center of an unprecedented paradigm shift, and for this reason, at Holobionte we closely follow the seismic movements taking shape in debates on technoculture, critical thinking, artistic trends, social progress, and epistemological transformation. The intense modernity—not to say the relentless futurism—of these territories is what interests us, without losing sight of our own avant-garde, nourished by authors who are bold in their methods and proposals.

Our three non-fiction collections (“Symbionts,” “Antefuturos,” and “Plutónicas”) focus on contemporary essays and the lines of thought and practices that were pioneering in our time. In 2020, we launched “Xenomórfica Magazine,” which also had an online version between 2020 and 2025, and which returned to its print format in January 2026. Likewise, in 2022, we inaugurated the “Holobionte Ficción” imprint dedicated to contemporary and weird fiction.

All of this forms a “holobiontic” corpus that, as its name suggests, is intended to hybridize, fuse, and intertwine those elements that remained scattered but were nonetheless fully interconnected. If, as Karen Barad said, beings do not pre-exist their relationships, at Holobionte Ediciones we are convinced that the wisest way to contribute to the world of books is through the discovery of all those interconnections, membranes, veins or interfaces that are waiting to be discovered.
