Piet Mondrian's art represents the most revolutionary contribution to the visual perception of reality. His early works reflected the Dutch landscape tradition and his interest in light effects. His familiarity with the work of Post-Impressionist painters completely changed his earlier notions about color, which he then approached in a much bolder manner.
