Piet Mondrian's art represents the most revolutionary contribution to the visual perception of reality. His early works reflected the Dutch landscape tradition and his interest in light effects. His familiarity with the work of Post-Impressionist painters completely changed his earlier notions about color, which he then approached in a much bolder manner. After completing the works of Picasso and Braque, he decided to adapt the precepts of Cubism, interested in reducing individual forms to a general formula and reducing pictorial language to its basic elements. This style, which he named Neoplasticism, sought to achieve true objectivity by freeing the work of art from its dependence on momentary individual perception and the artist's temperament.

The visual arts are a continuous evolution, which is only possible through continuous creation, and Mondrian showed the direction in which future artists should lead humanity. He knew that the old era of painted canvases and ornaments was coming to an end. The artist of the future would be a new shaper of plastic forms, simultaneously a painter, sculptor, and architect.

The vitality of his painting and writings hold profound implications for understanding the past, present, and future, given that throughout his life, Mondrian shaped a project that extended beyond the pictorial to become an ethical enterprise: art as a guide for humanity through purity and clarity.
