Otto Pöggeler, Professor of Philosophy and Director of the Hegel Archive at the Ruhr University (Bochum), is the author of numerous publications on the philosophy of German idealism, phenomenology, and practical philosophy. In this book, the author analyzes the possible connections between the different stages of Heidegger's thought and politics. Based on a careful study of Heideggerian thought, he seeks to highlight its relevance for elucidating the connections between philosophy and politics. Two essays on Heidegger's relationship with the poetry of Hölderlin and Paul Celan complement this perspective.
