Eloy Fernández Porta

Eloy Fernández Porta (Barcelona, 1974) has a doctorate in Humanities from the Pompeu Fabra University, with an Extraordinary Doctorate Award. He has published eleven books of "mutant criticism whose ideas metamorphose into narrative style and form" (Christine Henseler). In this collection, Afterpop, Homo Sampler, €RO$ (Anagrama Essay Award), Emociónese Así (Ciutat de Barcelona Award), En la confidencia and, in Catalan, L’art de fer-ne un gra massa have appeared. A pioneer in the expanded modalities of theory, he has translated his texts into spoken word in the groups Afterpop Fernández & Fernández (with Agustín Fernández Mallo) and Mainstream (with Jose Roselló) and has performed the theatrical monologue Granito del Nuevo Mundo. His essays have been adapted to comics (by Carlos Maiques and Marcos Prior) and to video creation (by Carles Congost and Natxo Medina). He has been translated into English, French and Portuguese. His most recent book is The Black Buds.
