Original title: Auch eine Geschichte der Philosophie. Band 2. Vernünftige Freiheit. Spuren des Diskurses über Glauben und Wissen
Translation by Jaime Nicolás Muñiz, Alejandro del Río Herrmann, Josep Monter Pérez
This second volume continues the genealogy of post-metaphysical thought following the common thread of the discourse on faith and knowledge. Starting with Protestantism and the philosophy of the subject, he focuses on the bifurcation of the transcendental tradition (Kant) and the empiricist tradition (Hume) and, from there, unravels the themes of language, the objective spirit and the philosophy of history, up to the Young Hegelians, Marxism, the philosophy of existence and pragmatism. Of the many possible lines of a history of philosophy, Jürgen Habermas highlights a learning process whose traces allow us to breathe courage into the tasks imposed on human reason.
