Reform or Revolution is Rosa Luxemburg's first great political work, which would provide her with political recognition in the German Social Democratic Party, and would force veterans to consider her a true political leader. From 1897 to 1898 Eduard Bernstein published a series of articles in Neue Zeit in which he tried to refute the basic premises of scientific socialism, to which Rosa Luxemburg responded with two articles that would later be reunited under the title Reform or Revolution.
