A mother and daughter. Several decades ago, they had to flee totalitarianism with the rest of their family. Since then, their relationship has been marked by everything that exile shattered forever. Over the years, both have rebuilt their lives, though on different continents, always prisoners of not belonging anywhere. And the distance, the limited time they share, and the different realities they inhabit have weakened the bond between them. As the daughter flies across the ocean to see her aging mother perhaps for the last time, she revisits both of their lives, searching for understanding. And upon arrival, many surprises await her, demonstrating that the end of life can be the most intense, profound, and beautiful moment one can experience with a mother.
