
History books say the Spanish Civil War ended in 1939. But after the last part of war, many soldiers, public officials and supporters of the legitimate Republican government were forced to flee and hide the Franco regime as "moles".
In the late sixties, after the amnesty decree issued by the dictator, moles out like mushrooms after the rain, the hole where they had lived in hiding, still in fear of reprisals.
In eight years of research, the authors of The Topos followed tracks, slamming received death threats, etc. All for the sake of shocking testimonies of those who were persecuted by an unseen enemy buried alive.
Their testimonies speak of the experience of captivity, but also talk about the other missing who could not tell his own story, and the great collective sacrifice that marked their lives and those of their families.
