In 1922 in China, the first Chinese translation of Don Quixote was published under the title *The Enchanted Knight*. Its translator didn't know Spanish, so he translated indirectly, listening to an assistant who also didn't know Spanish, but who told him in Chinese what he was reading from an English version. The result of this overlap of languages ​​and translators is a Don Quixote with echoes of imperial China, amidst monks and Chinese proverbs. Almost a century later, this Chinese Don Quixote is being published in Spanish for the first time.
