The development of aesthetics and theories of art in the twentieth century acquires a physiognomy directly conditioned by the evolution of artistic and literary movements. It is customary for aesthetic ideas to respond to the problems posed by works, their reception and interpretation, it is characteristic of our century the growing interest of creators, artists, poets, etc., for the reflection on their own activity. The panorama offered by the aesthetics of the twentieth century has been enriched by insightful experiences and has brought into play contributions from very different theoretical and methodological perspectives.
