
Dollar Imperialism offers us a reading of the current global capitalist economy, at the heart of which lies the destructive violence of the war between Russia and Ukraine. Its author argues that the heart of the conflict is the crisis of dollar imperialism, a monetary, financial, and military system that, since the 1970s, has operated as a specific form of colonization. The US currency and its policies of debt and global circulation were born out of wars and will end in wars. US hegemony is declining, beset by the commercial and military articulation between Russia and China, by insurgencies in the global South, and by the civil war taking place in the United States, and its loss of global control is reflected within its borders.
