Teófilo Huerta

Teófilo Huerta was born in Mexico City on November 7, 1956. He is a novelist and poet. He studied journalism at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). He has been a professor at the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences (FCPyS) and the Aragón Campus of the UNAM; a reporter for the children's television news program "Para Niños y Similares" and for "Mi Periodiquito" in the newspaper Novedades; a columnist for "La Onda" in Novedades, "El Búho" in Excélsior, and the cultural section of El Financiero; founder and coordinator of the children's supplement "El Brinco" in the magazine Revista del Consumidor; editorial coordinator of the Audiotinta newsletter on Radio Educación; a contributor to the magazines El Búho, Molino de Letras, Comunidad Conacyt, and El Bibliotecario; host and contributor to radio and television programs for XEW, Canal Once, Imevisión, Radio Mexiquense, and Televisión Mexiquense; a screenwriter and advertising creative; head of the Broadcasting Department and private secretary at Radio Educación; and head of the Planning Department at Radio UNAM. Head of the Content Department at Imevisión; Radio Coordinator at the National Consumer Institute; Advisor for the Website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Deputy Director of Liaison for the General Directorate of Libraries of Conaculta; Director of Planning and Coordination for the State of Mexico Radio and Television System. In 1974, he received an honorable mention from the National Youth Institute in a short story contest, and the same distinction in 1997 from the Reforma newspaper and Alfaguara Publishing House in the Sad Short Story contest.
