Silvina Rocha was born in Tucumán in 1969, but considers herself a Buenos Aires resident by choice. She is also a composer, singer, and teacher. She has always been closely connected to literature, both for pleasure and through her work as a lyricist and versifier, eventually finding her way into children's literature. She has collaborated with several illustrators on picture books to learn a bit about that other language: the graphic one. This is how Mateo and His Red Cat, a book published and awarded several times, came to be.
