Mateo González Alonso is a Salesian priest and a journalist, having studied at the Pontifical University of Salamanca and La Sapienza University of Rome. He holds a degree in Ecclesiastical Studies and also degrees in Philosophy and Humanities. He has collaborated with various media outlets, especially in the religious sphere: COPE, TRECE, the Salesian Bulletin, Il Mio Papa (Spanish edition), Telecinco, La Gaceta de Salamanca, La Razón, and Vatican Media. Since July 2015, he has contributed to the magazine Vida Nueva, where he writes the blog "Me lo pregunto" (I Wonder) and the column "Más listo que un profeta" (Smarter Than a Prophet), offering insights into current religious affairs. He has taught and served as pastoral coordinator in several schools and has also worked in youth centers, coordinating various programs. Since September 2023, he has taught at the María Auxiliadora School in Vigo and directed the Abertal Youth Center. He is currently also a parochial vicar in Vigo.
