Efraín Villamor Herrero

Efreín Villamor Herrero (Bilbao, 1986) is a doctoral candidate at the University of Salamanca. He graduated in Japanese Philology and Japanology in 2016 and completed postgraduate studies in International Relations at Yamaguchi Prefectural University. Since then, he has followed St. Francis Xavier's commitment to fostering understanding between cultures, especially the relationship between Japan and Spain. Specializing in Buddhist Studies, he has selected, translated, and interpreted twenty Buddhist fables (jātaka) from the original texts in Pāḷi—some over two thousand years old—which he now offers us in this beautiful book. In it, you will also learn the foundations of Buddhist thought, essential for understanding almost any aspect of Japanese and Asian culture in general.
