Danú Gontijo

Danú Gontijo (Daniela Cabral Gontijo) was born in Brasília in 1976. She is a researcher, activist, and transdisciplinary artist. A lawyer by training, she holds a Master's degree in Human Rights from Utrecht University, Netherlands, and a PhD in Bioethics from the University of Brasília (UnB). For a year, she completed a research internship within the framework of the University Program of Gender Studies (PUEG) at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). She is an associate researcher at the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics/PPG Bioethics at the National University of Brasília (UnB). Since 2003, she has dedicated herself to the study of violence, dissident paths, and antidotes to oppression. In the artistic field, she is a co-founder of the Coletivo do Quadrado, a collective of independent artists from the Federal District of Brazil, and as part of the duo Tatá e Danú, she has released three albums and three singles. She currently lives in Berlin.
