Clorinda Matto de Turner (Cusco, 1852 - Buenos Aires, 1909) was a prominent writer, journalist, and pioneer of indigenism in Latin America. Known for her novel Aves sin nido (1889), she criticized the exploitation of indigenous people and ecclesiastical corruption, which led to her excommunication and exile to Argentina, where she continued her literary and teaching work.
