Benoît Peeters

Benoît Peeters (Paris, 1956) is a cartoonist, novelist, critic, and biographer.

His father was a European civil servant who settled in Brussels. Of French origin, Peeters studied philosophy at the Sorbonne in Paris, where he later completed his postgraduate diploma under Roland Barthes.

He returned to Brussels in 1978. In high school, he met the cartoonist François Schuiten, with whom he later collaborated. He began his writing career in 1976 and has dedicated himself to it fully since 1982, working in a wide variety of fields.
