Basim Khandaqji

Basim Khandaqji (Arabic: باسم خندقجي; Nablus, 1983) is a Palestinian writer, journalist, and poet. He was sentenced to a lengthy prison term in 2005 for his involvement in a suicide bombing at the Carmel Market in Tel Aviv. His novel Qināʿ bi-lawn as-samā ("A Mask the Color of the Sky," 2023), written while he was in prison, won the International Prize for Arab Fiction (IPAF) in 2024.
