Antonio Soler

Antonio Soler was born in Málaga in 1956. He is the author of fifteen novels. Among them are *Los héroes de la frontera*, *Las bailarinas muertas* (Galaxia Gutenberg, 2016), *El nombre que ahora digo* (Galaxia Gutenberg, 2020), *El camino de los ingleses*, which was adapted into a film with a screenplay by Soler himself, *El sueño del caimán* (Galaxia Gutenberg, 2022), *Una historia violenta* (Galaxia Gutenberg, 2013), *Apóstoles y asesinos* (Galaxia Gutenberg, 2016), and *Sur* (Galaxia Gutenberg, 2018), a dazzling and fascinatingly rich novel that encompasses all the stories simmering in a city, oscillating daily between hell, salvation, and insignificance. *Sacramento* (Galaxia Gutenberg, 2021), his latest novel, recounts a chilling true story involving the abuse of power. He has also published a book of short stories, Strangers in the Night.

His novels have been translated into a dozen languages.

He has worked as a screenwriter and has been a regular contributor to the newspapers Sur and El Mundo (Andalusia) and the Colpisa news agency, as well as the Sunday supplement El Semanal. He has also contributed to the newspapers ABC, El País, and El Periódico de España, and to the Sunday supplement of El Periódico de Barcelona, ​​in addition to various literary magazines. He has been Writer-in-Residence at Dickinson College in Pennsylvania on two occasions.

He has given lectures and courses at numerous universities and cultural institutions in Europe, Latin America, the United States, and Canada.

He is a founding member of the Order of Finnegans.
