
André Padoux (1920–2017) was a French scholar of Indian studies, considered one of Europe's most renowned specialists in Sanskrit and Tantra.
He was honorary director of research at the CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique) in Paris. He wrote numerous articles on the subject and is the author of the acclaimed work Vak and co-author of the books L'Inde, marges and Le Coeur de la yogini.
