Alain Corbin (Lonlay-l’Abbaye, 1936) is a historian and one of the most prominent exponents of the so-called history of sensibilities. Professor emeritus at the Sorbonne, he has published, among others, the essays Histoire du Silence (Acantilado, 2019), Terra incognita (Acantilado, 2024), Le Miasme et la Jonquille (1982), Histoire du corps (2005), Histoire du christienne (2007) and La Douceur de l’ombre (2013).
