This book brings together quotes about trees from different religions and times. Most of these phrases come from spiritual authors and texts, as the work focuses on this aspect. We will find in it, first of all, archetypal and celestial trees, powerful symbols that have accompanied humanity for millennia. Then, we will descend to the closest earthly tree, but which also has its roots in myth and legend, and whose life and death are signs and teachings. In the phrases of this group the voice of the poets also intervenes, who with their intuition know how to extract the essence of the phenomena and communicate their messages. We end the section by mentioning some cursed trees that embody negative tendencies.
The last part of the text deals with the relationship between the tree and humanity: the identification between both; the material and spiritual gifts that the tree offers; the moral inspiration it conveys. The book ends by suggesting through the emblematic sets of the forest, the orchard and the garden, the steps on the upward path, until reaching Paradise. In fact, the work traces the great circle of human destiny –in the company of trees– that begins with pleasure and pain in Eden and beatifically ends with reintegration in the Celestial Paradise.
