This book is primarily aimed at the primary school teacher, since this is the basic level where most of the teaching of reading takes place. Even so, the book is designed so that it can be used by teachers of reading and other subjects at all levels of schooling. Throughout the text, emphasis is placed on how to train comprehension, and on the application of a "direct instruction paradigm" to the actual teaching of reading comprehension, with emphasis on that crucial phase in which the teacher models the new processes and skills as you deliver your teachings.
