Tom Sharpe

Tom Sharpe (1928-2013) was born in London and educated at Cambridge. In 1951 he moved to South Africa, where he lived until 1961, when he was deported, returning to his country, where he dedicated himself solely to writing. In 1995 he moved to Llafranc, a small town in Empordà where he lived until his death. His readers number in the millions around the world and he enjoys the well-deserved reputation of being "the funniest novelist of our time" (The Times).
