Steven Nadler is the William H. Hay II Professor of Philosophy, the Evjue-Bascom Professor in Humanities, and the Weinstein-Bascom Professor of Jewish Studies at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

He has published some twenty books throughout his career, among which the present biography of Spinoza and the study, a Pulitzer Prize finalist, entitled Rembrandt's Jews (2003) should be noted.
