Sergio Ugalde Quintana

Sergio Ugalde Quintana is a full-time professor-researcher at the Center for Linguistic and Literary Studies. His research and teaching issues are Hispanic -American essay and poetry of the twentieth century, especially the works of José Lezama Lima and Alfonso Reyes. He obtained the doctorate in Hispanic literature from the College of Mexico and has been postdoctoral fellow at the University of Potsdam thanks to the financing of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. From 2007 to 2019 he was a titular professor at the College of Latin American Studies, of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, in the area of ​​Latin American Literature. He is a member of the National System of Researchers.

Among his publications are books: the poetics of the Cimarrón (Aimé Césaire and the French Caribbean literature) (Conaculta), the library on the island. A reading of the American expression of José Lezama Lima (hummingbird). He has edited the epistolary: a friend in distant lands: correspondence Alfonso Reyes / Werner Jaeger (1942-1958) (The College of Mexico), a certain Goethian charm. German correspondence of Alfonso Reyes 1914-1959 (The College of Mexico-Cátrada Humboldt-Juan Pablos editor). With Antonio ATM he edited: José Revueltas, the tide of the days (UNAM); With Ottmar Ette: policies and strategies of criticism: ideology, history and actors of literary studies (Ibero-American-Vuert) and with Luz Elena Gutiérrez de Velasco: Banquet of images in the centenary of José Lezama Lima (the College of Mexico).
