Pablo Maurette

Essayist and professor of comparative literature. He has a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from the University of Buenos Aires, a Master's degree in Byzantine Greek from the University of London, and a PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He published numerous articles in specialized magazines, as well as a large number of notes in the most important newspapers in Argentina (Clarín, La Nación, Profile). In 2015 he published The Forgotten Sense: Trials on Touch (Mardulce), his first book, whose English edition appeared in 2018 (The Forgotten Sense: Meditations on Touch, University of Chicago Press). This year, his second essay book, La carne viva (Mardulce), was printed. At the end of 2017, he launched the # Dante2018 initiative, a comprehensive reading of The Divine Comedy via social networks that had an international and massive impact. He is currently a fellow at the Center for Italian Renaissance Studies at Harvard University and lives in Florence.
