Mexican poet. He won the 2002 National Poetry Prize in Sonora and the 2002 San Román Floral Games, convened by the Institute of Culture of the State of Campeche. He was also awarded third place in the Coahuilense Anthem contest, convened by the Coahuilense Institute of Culture icocult and the state government.

Throughout his career, he has been awarded the 1987 Magdalena Mondragón Prize, in the short story genre; the San Luis Potosí National Poetry Prize, 1992; and the 1993 Durango State Poetry Prize. In 2001, he was a finalist in the National Literature Contest at the Heroic Naval Military School.
