Lydia Goehr

Lydia Goehr is a professor of philosophy at Columbia University. In 2009/2010 he received the Distinguished Lenfest Award from Columbia Faculty, in 2007/8 the Faculty Mentoring Award (FMA) from the Graduate Student Advisory Council (GSAC), and in 2005, a Presidential Award from Columbia University for Outstanding Teaching. She received Mellon, Getty, and Guggenheim fellowships, and in 1997 she was the Ernest Bloch Visiting Professor in the Department of Music at the University of California, Berkeley, where she gave a series of lectures on Richard Wagner. He has been a member of the American Society of Aesthetics and is a fellow of the New York Institute for the Humanities. In 2012, the American Musicological Society awarded him the H. Colin Slim Prize for an article on Wagner's Die Meistersinger.
