Jorge Bergua Cavero

Born in Zaragoza (1965), is Professor of Greek Studies at the University of Málaga. His research focuses on the themes of classical tradition and survival of the ancient legacy in both his literary and thought dimension and linguistics. Fruit of books like this are studies on the tradition of Plutarch in Spain, XIII-XVII centuries (1995) or The Hellenisms the Spanish. History-system (2004). It has also developed an extensive activity as a translator, both ancient Greek (Plutarch, Longo of Lesbos, Sextus Empiricus, Lucian of Samosata) and the French (Stendhal, Claire Goll) and German (universal history writing H. Haarmann).
