Gonzalo Soltero

He was born in Mexico City, in 1973. Narrator, essayist and editor. He completed a bachelor's degree in Latin American Studies at unam, a master's degree in Cultural Projects at the University of Warwick, England, a degree he obtained as a fonca scholarship holder. He also completed a diploma in Literary Creation at the sogem and a certificate in the same area in Great Britain. He has served as director of the College of Art and Culture of the University of the Cloister of Sor Juana. He has participated in the edition of Hotel magazines. Cultura de paso, Casa del Tiempo and Magazine of the University of Mexico. He has collaborated in the periodicals Ficticia, La Jornada Semanal, Letras Libres, Milenio, Nexos, Origina, Replicante and Signos Literarios y Lingüísticos. He received a scholarship from the Young Creators Program, in the Novel category, from fonca. Member of snca since 2011. Punto de Partida Award 1996 in the categories of Essay, Poetry Translation and Novel Fragment. Banamex Award for Internet Evolution 2000. Jorge Ibargüengoitia National Novel Award 2003 for Sus ojos son fuego. His texts have been included in the books Zaid a debate, Jus, 2005, and Juntos andan. Anthology of short stories from contemporary Mexico (simultaneous Spanish-French edition), Plan C Editores / Editions xyz, Mexico / Québec, 2004. Some of his writings have been translated into French, English and Farsi.
