Giovanni  Reale

Giovanni Reale (Pavia, 1931). He received his doctorate at the Catholic University of Milan and continued specialization courses in Marburg and Munich. He has taught general history of philosophy and moral philosophy at the University of Parma and was professor of history of ancient philosophy at the Catholic University of Milan, where he founded the Metaphysical Research Center (Centro di Ricerche di Metaphysics). Currently teaches at the Faculty of Philosophy at the University Vita-Salute San Raffaele in Milan, where he founded another research center on Plato and Platonism._x000D_

Among the many awards received can mention the Laurea Honoris Causa of the International Academy of Philosophy of Liechtenstein, of the Catholic University of Lublin, the Moscow State University and the prize "Roncisvalle" at the University of Navarra._x000D_

Reale is considered one of the greatest living interpreters of Plato. Their studies range from ancient thought to the Christian and pagan has great contributions in studies of Aristotle, Plato, Plotinus, Socrates and Augustine.
