Berta Hiriart was born in Mexico City. She writes and directs plays, invents stories, dabbles in essays, and leads creative writing workshops. She has published numerous titles, aimed at children and young people, or addressing, for adults, issues related to childhood. She has received various awards and some of her books have been awarded and have been translated into English, Italian, German and Polish. She has more than thirty published works. At El Naranjo, she has published La Bienvenida, El Deseo de Tomás, Shall we play theater?, Primavera and Cachorros. As a co-author with Estela Leñero and Alejandro Matzumoto; The world of theater, The world of dance, The world of painting and The world of music.
