Antonio Monegal (Barcelona, 1957) is a professor of Theory of Literature and Comparative Literature at the Pompeu Fabra University. Graduated in Philosophy from the University of Barcelona, he received his doctorate from Harvard in 1989 and taught at Cornell University until his return to Spain. He is the author of the books Luis Buñuel from literature to cinema (1993) and In the limits of difference. Poetry and image in the Hispanic avant-garde (1998), editor of García Lorca's works Viaje a la luna (1994) and The public and The dream of life (2000), and coordinator of the anthologies Literature and painting (2000) and Politics and (po)ethics of war images (2007).
