Andrés Martínez Lorca, author of this volume, is Professor of Medieval Philosophy at the National University of Distance Education (Madrid) and director since its creation of "Al-Andalus collection. Texts and Studies. "In addition to numerous articles on Greek and medieval philosophy, has published, among others, the following books: The problem of the intellectuals and the culture concept in Gramsci (1981), The Psychology of Averroes. Commentary on Aristotle on the soul (in collaboration with Salvador Gomez Nogales, 1987), Atoms, men and gods. Studies of Greek Philosophy (1988), Essays on the Philosophy in al-Andalus (editor, 1990) and Medieval and Renaissance Philosophy: History of Philosophy II (in collaboration with Moisés González García, 2004). It has also been a contributor to Heloise Key Ruiz in editing Sa'id Al-Andalusi, history and philosophy of science, or Book of the categories of Nations (2000) and editor of The meeting of Averroes (1993) and Abu'l-Walid Ibn Rushd (Averroes), On the intellect (2004), all published titles in this same collection.
